Course Syllabus
NIELIT O Level Syllabus (R5.1)
The course is structured into four main modules. Each module has a theory component (48 hours) and practical training.
- M1-R5.1: Information Technology Tools and Network Basics
- Introduction to computer/IT gadgets, Operating System (Windows/Linux), File management, Word Processing (LibreOffice Writer), Spreadsheets (LibreOffice Calc), Presentation (LibreOffice Impress).
- M2-R5.1: Web Designing & Publishing
- Introduction to Web Design, HTML basics, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), CSS Framework (Bootstrap), JavaScript, Web Servers, and Publishing.
- M3-R5.1: Programming and Problem Solving through Python
- Introduction to Programming, Algorithms and Flowcharts, Python Basics, Sequence, Data Types, Operators, Expressions, Control Statements, Functions, String Manipulation, Lists, Tuples, Dictionaries, File Processing.
- M4-R5.1: Internet of Things (IoT) and its Applications
- Introduction to IoT, Sensors, Actuators, Microcontrollers (Arduino/Raspberry Pi), IoT Protocols, Communication, and Security.

Exam Pattern & Structure 2025
- Theory Exam: Each module has a 100-mark paper (33% passing marks).
- Practical Exam (PR1-R5.1): Based on all modules (M1-R5, M2-R5, M3-R5, M4-R5). Duration is 3 hours.
- Project (PJ1-R5.1): A project is mandatory for certification, though no marks are assigned
